Went to open Barclays basic account this morning only to find it has moved and been replaced with a LTSB, (shows you how much I go shopping in my local town:o) Being as I was down there I thought I would go in and ask about a basic account, and yes the answer was a resounding no, did not even get as far as finishing my question before being told that they do not entertain BR`s, good bye. So off I went, just really glad in the thought that the Coop and Barclays are around to help us. Have now also found out there is not a Barclays branch in our town anymore and will have to go out of town to open an account.

Well. After the way they treated you, LTBS are off my Christmas list now - I can tell you.0

Mmm. It doesn't read as funny as I thought it
It was supposed to be a childish thing; they upset my friend so I won't be friends with them sort of thing..0 -
LTSB have never been on my christmas list. Ive banked with them for years have loans and mortgage with them, never missed payments but as soon as I start getting into a spot of bother they dont want to know. They have hammered with bank charges over the last 12 months time and again that always send me over drawn that give me more bank charges its never ending.
once upon a time they advertised as being the bank that likes to say yes...now they are most definately the worst of the worst0 -
Hearing so much negativity about Lloyds tsb makes me hate them lol. I am out of work at the moment, asked for an overdraft just in case a payment goes out earlier etc etc got told no but they could give me a credit card, how about no chance!Learning to be 'good with money'0

Actually I never meant this thread as a pop at LTSB or any of the other BR unfriendly banks, but more of a thank you aimed at the Coop and Barclays. I knew what the answer would be before I went in, but just wanted to see how I was treated by them,if that makes sense?:pB&SC No. 298
