Phonecall hassel - what to do??

Options
Hi Guys,

Some of you might know that even though I've told Halifax many a time about Payplan, they still insist on calling my mobile number. I'll answer it very occaisionally but they're calling about 15 times a day between the hours of 8am - 9pm. I'm not scared to answer the phone, but every time they call I give them the same answers and still they call back.

I called vodafone a minute ago to see if I could get the Halifax number barred, but they said they couldn't. Has anyone else had this problem? It's going to cost £35 to change my number which I don't want to do...

...any suggestions??

Can you set up caller groups & call settings on your phone? If so, put all your mates in one group, family in another and then set up a call setting which will have a ring tone for these people only (i have mates on one, family on another, BF is a VIP group...). Now set your phone to this setting, then anyone who rings and is NOT friend/family, the phone won't ring. Frustrating for them, peace for you. You can then screen calls at your conveneice, and add people to your group.

I have my phone set on Family at night, and family & friends during the day. Its great for stress too - coz if it rings, it's someone you really want to speak to! :D

You can get your number changed for free by vodafone if you rae recieving calls that are unwanted and causing you distress. I had my number changed by them in the past following problems from an abusive ex. You are clearly addressing the issue of the debt and have no need to take these calls.

If you need to take calls like these get a cheap payg and give people like the Halifax that number. You can turn it off, or as I did with my ex, leave it in a drawer on silent most of the time!

Write to head office and complain? Also perhaps find out your consumer rights perhaps you could then threaten them with harassment- it doesn't sound right what they are doing to you. Hopefully someone will be along who knows what your rights are.
