Mbna, what a bunch of clowns!

Just had another letter from these idiots, usually I just bin them but I thought I would ring them one last time, and give them my details again and threaten them with my OR. The person I spoke to said I was still getting them because I have a common name, can you believe the stupidity of that comment. Then they said is your name on the IS website, err yes and has been since November. Told them that I had sent a copy of my BR to them but that again fell on deaf ears. Anyway they have promised to finally get it sorted, I will believe that when I see it. Rant over ;)

They really are a joke aren't they. Reporting them to the OR probably might help in this specific case, but you have to wonder whether anything else gets done beyond the OR speaking to MNBA. Demanding payment clearly violates the rules and regs set out by the FSA (or whoever regulates these things), but I suspect most complaints just get filled and very little is done to stop similar things happening in the future when its firms as big as MBNA.

It is frustrating isn't it? I find this kind of thing more annoying than when they were chasing before BR.

Hope they do get it sorted for you dojo.

I had the following letter from MBNA yesterday, even though they admit in the letter that they know I am BR.

'We are aware you are now insolvent (eg they agree I an BR) and they are closing my account. You have repeatedly broken agreement with us (before BR I missed 1 payment and set up a DMP). You must pay your full balance immediatley. If payment is made no other enforcement will be made.

If you have difficult paying you can apply to the court which may make an order allowing you more time. If you are unsure what to do you should contact a solicitor, trading standards or CAB.'

I really don't get these companies? How can they chase you if you are BR, are there not guidelines they are supposed to follow and by putting things in writing aren't they just getting themselves in trouble.

The thing is at this point I am sure so many people are in a mess and getting letters like this is just one added stress....... what a joke.

Sorry Dojo, something you could do without. They really are a joke, as in most of the posts their name always crops up - they seem to be difficult during and after bankruptcy ! x
