    Initiatives like this are great, but why do they need 20 days to deliver a hippo?! No wonder they've been fined for water wasting and bad customer service.

    This is fulfillment gone mad.

    you can just put a brick or large stone at the bottom of the cistern, that will do the job. by taking up space that will mean less water in the cistern.

    If you check with your local water supplier they may have them on offer - mine does in the anglia area.

    Mine arrived quite quickly. They do water hippos and also water block type things. They are different sizes so suitable for different size cisterns. Quite useful really.

    One is the conventional hippo bag and the other is a sachet of gel crystals that swells in size to take up space.

    Very nifty!

    Or even just fill a 2 litre bottle up with water and put that in,has the same effect aswell !!!
