A warning about Dooyoo

Options
My friend signed up with the site a few weeks back and his account has now been banned. He got this email from them:

We were unfortunately forced to suspend your account due to some abuse
associated with your account. It is against the dooyoo Site Rules to post the
same review under more than one product listing on the site and it appears
that you had been posting duplicate reviews. This cannot be allowed and
therefore your account was suspsended.

I did ask whether he had someone else posting reviews on his PC or if he had signed up to Ciao. He answered both questions with a No so I have no idea why they have done this to him.

However, I did read on Google that Dooyoo have done this to a fair amount of people.

I have racked up over 100,000 points and am planning to cash out at the weekend with a cheque but I may even take the amazon vouchers because now I'm worried I may get the infamous bad dooyoo treatment if I go the cheque route. :(

It's a shame that Dooyoo have made me feel like that.

My OH had the same problem, it turned out people had "reused" his reviews on other sites such as LoveFilm. However they usually lock all of your reviews and talk to you first, so I imagine it would have to happen a lot for a straight ban.

How many points did he have, and what kind of things was he reviewing? I've had no problems withdrawing amazon vouchers or cash from them.
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:
  • He was approaching 20,000 points and he was reviewing video games for the most part. He had already received a warning before about the reviews not being 150 words or that they were "offensive"...whatever that was about.

I have never tried submitting a review before getting to the 150 word mark but I imagine you cannot submit it until you have 150 words.

If that's true that people steal reviews and then it's the dooyoo reviewers that get the blame then I best hope it doesn't happen to me.

Dooyoo should do a proper investigation because, for 50p, it can add up to quite a bit of time just for someone to come along and get you in trouble like that.
  • my account hit 40000 and had been removed, because my reviews used some of the same words!! all i said was similar phrases, such as this is a great author, this woman knows how to write etc etc. they said i was copying. myself. how stupid is that. they are a con!!!! AVOID!!!!!
