Mortgage Free!!!

I am 36 married with two little terrors. 9mths ago I suffered a Heart Attack at the ripe old age of 35. This was due to stress. I had a life insurance policy that paid out £100,000 so I decided to clear my mortgage which left enough for a nice holiday too. The H/A was very small, didn’t even know I was having one, and was lucky to take it as a warning sign. I now own my £250k house and now have an a less stressful life, however I am now £1000 a month better off and don’t know what to do with the cash. I want to invest it but don’t really know what to invest in. Gold, property, premium bonds???
Can anyone suggest what I should do?
Thanks

Save some, spend some, you've had a warning shot, enjoy life.
As a wise man on this very forum said -"everybody in the graveyard is mortgage free". Take the terrors on good holidays and enjoy.

Always keep in your mind that money managers temd to have expensive lifestyles and the money can only come from your premiums.0

Great story.
Hopefully others will see the benefits of such protection and follow your steps as well in being covered.
Hopefully we never have to use these covers, but by golly you are happy you have got them when you need to claim.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Sorry to hear of your MI and maybe you should have a long look at your lifestyle and take life a bit slower.( maybe part time work / less stressful job)
Well done on taking out the ill health insurance and getting a pay out from the insurance company.
You have most of your wealth tied up in property already ! Your home so build up savings in Cash ISA,s ( you and OH ) and consider long term savings.
Good Luck0
