Does anyone know where I can sell my wedding dress? I know there are online sites ebay and ones you can advertise your dress, but I wondered whether there was a local shop in NI that I can sell it to?

I don't know of any shops where you can sell wedding dresses to be honest, I think (but not 100%) that most shops rely on donations.
If you sell it online may I offer some advice from searching for dresses...
Include the designer and the style name/number in the title as well as the size
Include the designers picture as the first picture because people will probably recognise it.
Include lots of other clear pictures, showing any detail as well as any marks you may have commented on in your description.
If you've got a really nice pic of you wearing it that you're happy to share then do so!
Say your size and how it fitted you.
Have a look at ebay at the highest priced dresses with bids on and see how they have listed them.
Other may disagree of course but when I have tried searching for a dress (without Franny's help) I found these things made me warm to the advert.Bump due 22nd September0 -
I think there are shops that will sell your dress and take a comission for doing so but I'm afraid I don't know of any in NI sorry.
Have to agree 100% with Hayley about listing your dress if you do decide to go the e-bay route. I'm currently scouring the listings for a wedding dress and i'm amazed at how badly some people advertise them. Always put the measurements and not just the size as dresses vary so much and get decent photos, preferably of the dress on or on a tailors dummy (if poss). A style number is so helpful if you can't do that.
I have seen out of focus pictures of something that only just resembles a dress with no description and a ridiculous asking price, never suprised when they go unsold. Oh...and reserves are a pain if you are not prepared to disclose it, especially when the starting bid is set much lower.
Anyway good luck and search using google for alternatives if you don't want to use ebay. There are other sites devoted to just selling wedding dresses but i find the prices on them tend to be higher.0 -

Excellent advice, Hayley!! Whatever you do don't just put a picture of the dress on a hanger, I know what I am looking for when I search ebay and am constantly surprised at the poor photo's which will attract very few bids, which while equals a bargain for a bride, will not be good for the seller. Also don't start it at 99p and put a £350 reserve on it, it winds people up. I notice that if its a popular style you will get a good price, but start it at a sub £100 price, a lot of people filter below £100!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
