Energy levels

I am a veggie and recently, due to a knees operation pending, decided that I would start taking some carb curb tablets. I currently weigh 9.5 st., I am 49 yrs old (just hit the big M) and I am just over 5' tall. The consultant had said that I should lose at least a stone before my op.
The problem I am having is that I do not have any energy since last week Thurs. My legs can't seem to carry my weight and I feel like I just want to layabout/go to bed, etc. I have stopped taking the carb curb tablets but I still feel the same. I have started taking iron tablets as I do tend to suffer from aneamia every now and then.
Does anyone know what might be the cause of this very low level of energy? What can I do to boost my levels, bearing in mind I'd like to lose a little bit of weight before 25th July (op date)?
Thanks.
