I organise two summer fayres a year and here is some of them...
BBQ
Bric a Brac
Fancy Goods
Toys
Buried Treasure
Lucky Straws (straws buried in sand)
Tombola
Raffle
Kids lucky dip
Books
Cakes/Refreshments
Welly Wanging
Donkey rides - run buy professional company
Sweets stall
Kids crafty corner
Stocks
10 pin bowling
Croc of gold
bottle stall
Get the police/fire brigade to turn up with a vehicle - provides a point of interest
Professional bouncy castles - get them to give you a donation but let them keep the takings its a legal nightmare manning one yourself
Professional swing boats - as above
I also get outside craft people like people who sell cards and home made jewellery to pay £10 each to have a stall on the day... - helps with the cash before the event too
There probably are more but I can not think of them. If you want any more explained let me know
Good luck with it all. I am just about to start planning mine in the next two weeks.

Can i ask what Lucky Straws (straws buried in sand) is and how do you play itI Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It0

Lucky straws are loads of straws some shorter than others or some with a little mark on them buried in the sand. If you get one of the marked lucky ones you get a prize. We keep it simple one mark and you choose your prize but you could colour code them for different grades of prizes.
You just keep putting the straws back in the sand if you want.
Any more questions PM me

How about:
Face painting
Hair Braiding
Fake tattos - rubbed on with water
Nail painting - nail varnish
Frog in a bog - make frog bean bags (really simple if you google you'll
find a pattern. You either use a real toilet or make one up
using a toilet seat and people have to throw them in.
Crockery Smash - people donate their old china/go to car boots at the end
and ask for donations too. Also ask on freecycle. Stack all
the crockery up with something at the back so the bits dont
fly everywhere and people pay to break the plates, bowls
cups etc.
Coconut shy
Stocks - throw a wet sponge / rotton fruit/veg at the teacher
Photo Board - Get someone arty to draw a pic on a piece of hard board, leaving
holes for faces and take photos of people. Like the old
fashioned lifeguard carrying a woman etc.
Cream teas or strawberries and cream -alternative to bbq for mums and grandparents who would rather not have burgers etc.
Human fruit machine
Hook a duck
Match the babies with teachers - pop up on a board tteachers baby photos
Hoopla stall- wooden rings and wooden blocks with prizes on
Kids craft stall- i.e. paint their own t shirts - you can buy them from tescos
for approx £1 each. Maybe have a word with your local tesco to see if you
could bring back the ones you dont sell? We charged £4 a tshirt.
Have potato/sponge prints/old bike wheels for a tyre track to go across shirt/pens etc.
Ask local dance/gym/clubs groups to give a demonstration (some will do for free)
We've had karate demos, line dancing, theatre groups, majorettes.
Organise a school football/netball tournament/tug of war at the same time then you have other parents coming along with their children to spend money at your school.
Wine or Water - have some full wine bottles and some with water in. Cover the top with plastic cups. People pay to choose a bottle and then they could either win wine or waterYou can try this with fizzy drinks and coloured water for the kids too.
Hook a bag - Have small brown bags with goodies in and bamboo poles with hooks on end. Whatever bag they hook they win the prize. Only one prize per person.
Sweetie Tombola - pop sweets into jars and do as normal tombola
Teddy tombola - ask for unwanted soft toys. Put name tags on them all and put the names into a box. Whatever name the child pulls out that is the toy they win. I always put the soft toys on the table in alphabetical order so its easier to find them.
How many sweets in a jar?
Weight of the cake?
Balloon race
Skittles - We have used old plastic drinks bottles decorated and with numbers on (relevant scores). Pop a bit of water or sand in the bottles to make them stand up. At the end of the fayre person with highest score wins a prize.
Frisbee - Draw with chalk on the playground circles with scorees on and do the same as above.
Sell icecreams/ices - Just buy them from the supermarket. We have always doubled our money at least.
Punch balloons - Buy them from the pound shop (for 10) or ebay. Then put a spoon of rice into each balloon, blow up and sell for about 50p each. The kids love selling these balloons...send kids around the fayre demonstrating and selling them. (pop a poster on their backs with the price)
Higher and lower game - Like bruce forsyth card game on tv. Google if not sure
Pack of cards - Have two sets of cards. One set you lay on the table face up with a prize on ...i.e. lollys, cars etc and hold the other set in your hand. Get people to cut the card/ or choose a card face down from your hand and they win whatever is on that card on the table.
Bowling game - Either cut arcs from a piece of hard board with numbers above to score or bend over wire and push into grass with a flag with the score on . Highest score at end of fayre wins prize (we try to get our local bowllling alley to donate a game for two)
Plant stall - Get people to start planting seeds/bulbs/cuttings now ready to sell on your own stall. Make up herb gardens..hanging flowering baskets...hanging salad baskets, strawberry pots etc
Puppet show - Try to get one of the teachers/parents to put on a puppet show. The puppets only have to be basic and the kids love it. Have it in a classroom/hall and kids pay to come and watch.
selling kits - have a look on the crafty options you could make up and then sell on. i.e. decorate a bag (make or buy bags and supply with ribbons/buttons/sequins etc) - sew a sock monster or monkey (supply everything you need in bag) - Sew a valentines heart etc etc.
Which key opens the door - mini door with keyhole in and bag of odd keys. People pull out one and if you choose correct one you win prize.
Splat the rat - Piping and a stuffed toy rat, rounders bat. Someone lets the rat go at the top of the pipe and you try to whack the rat as it appears at the bottom.0 -

just bummping up this thread see if there are any new ideasI Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It0

Hi
Perhaps not so popular now but I always had a fancy dress competition and there were always quite alot of entrants for the little age groups. Also face painting as there is always at least one talented mum who can be persuaded!0 -
Stairway to Heaven
Have a standard 6' step ladder. On each step you place a container. To have a go, you get the same number of balls/bean bags as there are containers. To win a prize you must throw a ball/bag into each container. To increase the degree of difficulty, make the containers smaller as they go up the ladder. Ping pong balls will be harder to use than bean bags. Experiment to see what suits you best.
Lucky Socks
You will need a Portable Clothes Hoist and hundreds of used socks! The idea is to set up your Hoist and then peg the socks to the lines.
You can run this stall in a couple of ways. You can let your customers actually select a sock, which will have a lucky number inside, or you can number each sock and let your customers buy tickets, like tombola.
You could put your prize inside the sock - mini bars of chocolates, scratch it tickets, small toys - or you could have the lucky ticket inside the sock that corresponds to your prize table.
Maybe your local hardware store would generously donate the Hoist and it could be the major prize? Alternatively, you can string up lines using rope.
Ask for donations of socks to use on the stall.
Lucky Plate
Fill a paddling pool with water and float a small china plate in the water. Put a £2 coin in the plate. Draw a line about 2 metres from the pool. If you can throw a 20pence piece onto the plate, you win the prize. Practice as you set up the stall to decide the best distance for the line. The 20p coins will usually bounce off the plate.
