Sorry folks but only one comp showed when I searched and it wasn't this one... :(

this is all that showed as already posted on the comps board.

It would make it easier to search comps if members also posted the question, not just the answer and link as that is one of the ways I use to search.

So if the question isn't posted I and others may not find it.

    I'll request the merge.

    EDIT: Sent to divadee.

I don't think many people search by question and considering we've been asked not to copy a load of text I don't think we should (so i've always found it strange that you copy all the terms and conditions even when they are not comp specific...) - if you searched for btvision or the answer "Billy The Buccaneer" the comp came up.

    Hi blackmidnight,

I guess we all have our different way of searching comps, and I've found that a stripped URL and the question has usually worked for me. This was advised to me a long time ago by a member who was far more experienced at searching and posting comps than I was a long while back.

As for posting the T&Cs I've found that members like to have them posted too. I wasn't aware of posting anything non specific to a comp. I know some are general T&Cs from certain websites, but as I said some members seem happy for me to post them.

  • Hope you don't mind but I for one am grateful for the posting of T&Cs! I won a comp a while back (a holiday) where just the "clicky" was posted and I stupidly didn't make a note of the T&Cs which, of course, have now disappeared from the company running the comp's website. It would have been great for me to have been able to refer back to the OP for the T&Cs.

I agree with posting tems and conditions for things like holidays where there are specifics but ones like the shortlist comps for example where the terms and conditions are exactly the same for every comp and don't refer to the specific prize I don't understand why they are posted when we've been told to refrain for copying large amounts of text.
