I desperately want a copy of a children's book called "Emma Borrows a Cup of Sugar"

I have tried everywhere to get a copy of this book from my childhood. It is by Nicholas Fisk. Its about a girl who goes to her neighbour's houses to try & borrow a cup of sugar. Its hardback about A4 size. It's out of print and I cannot track down a single copy.

If anyone can help I will be so grateful.

There appears to be a copy for sale on Amazon Japan! At least I hope I'm right - although there are english translations of the Amazon Japan web pages, some of the text is still in Japanese. The book title is given in english, so I am assuming the book is english, and not a japanese translation.

I can't find any other copies though.

Oh wow! Don't want to get my hopes up but this is the best lead I've had. Would the book be in English though? Also as I cannot read the text how do I know the price etc. Can anyone help me - do I just order in the normal way as I would with Amazon uk?

My sister has a colleague whose wife is Japanese. She already has an Amazon japan account and has ordered the book to be delivered to her parents in Japan. She will bring it back to UK for us when she visits them this summer!!!

Sadly Amazon Japan did not have the book. They contacted us to say the book was no longer available.

So STILL looking, still hoping that one of you may have it in your attic or have some wonderful way of getting it for me.

Been meaning to update this thread to give my happy ending. After eight years of searching - and I searched hard - my Mum got it from Australia and gave it to me for my 40th birthday earlier this month!!

I desperately want a copy of a children's book called "Emma Borrows a Cup of Sugar"
