Activ Kapital (UK) Ltd DEFAULT - Who are they?

Options
I hope someone will be able to throw some light on this for me?!

I have 2 defaults on my credit file from ACTIV KAPITAL (UK) LTD and the status etc. seems to be updated every month.. yet I have no idea who these people are! I have arrangements with all my creditors and I will be debt free in 7 months after a long hard 4 year slog but I have never been contacted by this company...

I have wrote to them twice (recorded delivery) to the address on my credit file for them but they have not responded and today I found a website for them and checked the address and everything and it's all OK - so I rang them!

The upshot is.. they do exist, at the address I have been using to write to them.. but they can not help me as I don't have an account number.. blah.. blah.. blah! :o

Any ideas please???

surely they cant be a debtor unless they can prove you have a debt with them??
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

Well that's what I thought but how do I get the defaults removed from my credit file? ...or at least get a sensible answer out of someone about the 'debts' :o

dispute the debt with the credit agency....they must get a response from the creditor within 28 days saying what it is for.

These people are awful, my OH has an entry on her file and made contact with them. They said that there were 9 other accounts for her!!!! 2 days later she had a letter from them telling her she owed them another bill.

She went on the phone again and is not one to be messed with!!!! turns out that the first person she had spoken to who tried to get her to pay the bill at a discounted rate (a one time offer funnily enough); he also manipulated her date of birth and lied about the previous addresses she was not happy.

Thankful to say that she phoned on receipt of the second letter and spoke to a different lady who apologised and took my OH details and removed them from our address and disassociated my wife from them. Still waiting for written confirmation Credit Expert are on to them as well.

The telephone number she used is 08701 609543

    Hope this helps

Unfortunately all they will do is send the standard response to the CRA "the data is correct, not to be amended"

The only way forward with these monkeys is to request proof of the debt directly, when they fail to comply (and believe me they will) then you need to escalate to the Information Commissioners office, Aktiv will also completely ignore them, this will give the ICO the hump, and they will instruct the Credit reference agency to remove the data, very long and painful process, but the only way
