Advice!

Hi there, I am stressed out to high heaven and I need advice! I have lost my job, and am in debt,

I have one of the vanquis cards that i am in default with, a post office card that im in default with, a abbey nat that I am in default with. i have a loan and a mortgage, not defaulted.

i have buried my head in the sand and i dont know what to do!

all these debts amount to about 8 grand or so. I was going to try to reclaim some charges from these accounts but that seems a bit wrong in a way! but I am happy to do it, but can I

I dont want to make my credit history any worse than it is, when the debt is sent to a collector have the cardholder sold the debt? what happens there??I want to try to remortgage in a couple of years too.

I am not looking for an easy way out, just solid advice! I need to get myself debt free.

I am sure i have left some valid info out...

thanks for reading

Nxx

  • Set up payment plans on your defaulted account and do your best to pay the minimum on your non-defaults.

Post a SOA up and we'll see if we can help you make cut backs to pay off these debts.

I'm sure someone else will be along to help a lot more than me shortly :)

An SOA is a Statement Of Affairs. You can find a good one here; http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalchelp.html

an SOA is a statement of affairs, which explains where all your money needs to go each month. There is a sticky at the top of the dfw page which gives you the link to the best format to use.

Debt normally comes by spending MORE than you EARN. That is you are living a lifestyle you can not afford. We all know that, but sometimes we can not see the wood for the trees. If you want to get out of debt you have to change that habit today.
Make out your SOA and post it here. (link - http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html ) This will automatically total the numbers. It can be saved (click on the help) and you can change it every day if you want.
