Knitting for charity 2010

Hi there i am would like to start a thread here

Is anyone up for a challenge

PREEMIESUK CHALLENGE for 2010

parcels are now being sent to the hospitals via Couriers as its cheaper than royal mail and i can get more out to the hospitals this way

This will run all through the year

Part 1
1000 vent bonnets with flaps
1000 knitted blankets
1000 cardies
1000 gowns
1000 buntings
1000 angel pockets
1000 burial wraps
1000 boobs
2000 bears (memory boxes)
500 Angel bears (see part 6)

Part 2
2000 teddies as 2 each is needed for memory boxes and i want this one to be a massive hit for 2010

Part 3
to have a coffee morning on here each month and everyone put a donation to their postage funds

Part 4
Each person to find another knitter which can help with our cause

Part 5
i have had a request for some of these aswell Knappies please have alook at this link

i would like to help this group and i am wondering if we can get 500 bears for this charity ANGELBEAR

Items which are not needed at the moment intil further notice is

MITTENS

i will let you know when they are needed again

Also we need used stamps, empty ink cartridges not epsom as these will help towards our postage funds.

Hello

I am new to this thread although I peaked into the last one I am a very slow novice knitter but I would like to contribute, what is the easiest thing to do and where would I find the patterns? Then what do I do with it? Thank you!

hi there

why don't you start on a blanket 100sts by 100 rows and thats a perfect for a prem baby, Or knit squares and sew them together to make a blanket and then you can use different colour wool

Are you still using Aaron squares. What size were they and how many to make a blanket.

Yes we are still using Aaron squares

they are 20sts by 20 rows each sides on 4mm needles

16 to a blanket

All sizes are need from 10" upwards to 18"

I saw your post a few weeks ago and it urged me on with a challenge to teach my colleagues to knit we have started on squares to make blankets we will be knitting till the end of the month could you please let me know how to send these on to you? And a best finished size so when sewn up I can ensure there not too small (I have them knitting 20x20s but as there beginners they do vary a bit in size!)
