For those who love the stuff but find it pricey, here's my tried and trusted receipe.
Home made Baileys
10flozs single cream
6ozs condensed milk
2 eggs
1 tbs vanilla essence
1tbs instant coffee
1 cup whiskey/brandy (whichever you prefer)
3 tspn brown sugar shove it in a blender and voila. Makes about 1ltr. Best to keep it in the fridge.
Happy Christmas and enjoy!!

Gosh me and my friends made this when I was around 14, and it was foul!!!!
Maybe with [STRIKE]age[/STRIKE] experience it's much more palateable.
I shall give it a try, thanks :T0 -

I can vouch that it really is a wonderful receipe. 1 can of condensed milk will do 2 batches. It's just the cream that you need a whole carton of and of course the spirit. Cheapest stuff works just as well. £6 a bottle makes about 4 /5 batches depending on how generous you want to glug in the alchohol! So, buy 2 cartons of cream and you'll get well over 2 litres of the stuff per 1 tin of condensed milk. I never buy Baileys. Always make my own!!0

Not really sure what significance the eggs have apart from making it a bit thicker? Obviously this needs to be kept in the fridge, but the plus side is there is no need for ice so it doesn't get diluted when the ice melts. That has to be a plus right?
Would love to know what you all think if you do make it. Happy Christmas :beer:0 -
i wondered that too linda- thinking eggs are emulsifiers so keeps the mix together?? ah well- can try it with and without them lol! going to have a very MERRY christmas lmao0

Just made it! In fact now on my second glass (just to make doubly sure it's OK of course) - it's really quite good (hic!).0
