Washing-up Gloves to remove pet hair from furniture

Options
I don't know whether anyone else saw this - I watched Anthea Turner's Perfect Housewife show last week (yes sad I know but it passed the time whilst ironing). Anyway she suggested this great way of removing pet hair from fabric - put on your rubber washing-up gloves, run them under the tap and brush at the hair. The combination of damp and the rubber picks up the pet hair, works brilliantly.

It works on chinese wool rugs too - my cat Stanley just rolls about all day on the green rug, which ends up with black & white fur all over it!

I used to have loads of problem with hair on the furniture from my 3 cats. But I got one of those gloves with a plastic, bobbled hand on them from Morrisons for about 80p to groom them with. This worked so much better than anything I've used before and I only have to vac every few days now.
