Organic Meatbox Deliveries

Options
I'm looking at organic meat delivery schemes and wonder what other people's experiences have been? I have looked online and am considering Riverford (I believe they deliver to the Bath area for about a fiver) and Abel and Cole.

We have The Real Meat Company locally but I am not sure whether theirs is organic.

I don't want to purchase large amounts as I only have a small freezer.

I have still yet to order from these but sent for a brochure and it looks very impressive. This is a clip from their site:-

    The Eversfield difference
Eversfield Manor is an 850 acre organic farm nestling deep in the heart of the West Devon countryside. Our livestock is reared to the highest standards, living naturally in the woodlands and valleys of the Estate and grazing freely on lush Devon pastureland.

In this idyllic setting we have:
A pedigree Aberdeen Angus beef herd
    A Romney Marsh sheep flock
    Wild Eversfield venison
Locally bred pigs and free range chickens
    Partridges, pheasants and wild duck

The smallest box they do is about £24 but then you have delivery on top which off hand im not sure of the price. Whichever size pack you deciden to buy you can have a word with them to discuss which cuts you would prefer etc. They quote in their brochure that they have the only remaining stock of a particular breed left ( not sure which animal).
The link to the site if you want to have a look is:-

Thanks for that! It looks good. The delivery charge is £10 unless the order is over £100. May be better economic sense to share an order with a friend.
I feel a spreadsheet coming on to compare costs and delivery charges!

Ive just been looking through and if you go to the 'farm shop' section, in there you will find 'organic selection boxes' and those prices include delivery.
It makes your mouth water looking at it all!!! I would be very interested to hear what you think if you do decide to order anything from them.

One tip i can give you if youre not desperate to order is, request a brochure (go in the 'contact us' section and choose online enquiry and there you find the tick option of a brochure) and then what happens is after a couple of weeks they will contact you to see that you received it and what you thought to it and so on. Still dont order at this point and what happened to me was they phoned a good few weeks later and asked if i was considering an order and when i do decide to they will give me free delivery.
Im not saying thats its guaranteed they will do the same but its worth a though if youre not in any hurry.

Thanks for that - I missed out on reading the free delivery bit - will request the catalogue as you suggest.

I am of course meant to be getting on with other things this morning ....

    Excellent chicken!

Donald Russell although not organic is good too and often have free delivery offers if you are on their mailing list.. currently doing free delivery on any order until end of July - their chicken (frozen) and beef are particularly good..

We get a vegetable box from Able & Cole every week, and as a company they are spot on. Great customer service, no problams at all over the 6 months we've been with them.

Never ordered any meat but I'd presume the service for that would be equally good.
