This thread is specifically to discuss feedback for the

Falkos Postal Gold Company (link)

Postal gold companies, where you pop your old jewellery in an envelope & they melt it down and send you a cheque, have boomed in the past couple of months. We’re researching a guide to selling old gold, and need help from folks who’ve used these companies.

If you've used this company, please can you tell us the following...

When did you use it
What did you send it
How much did it promise you
How much did it deliver
How efficient was the service
If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason
Anything else other people should know

I investigated gold sites when I had some old jewellery (rings, bangles, single and pairs of earrings, chains, brooches) to dispose of. At the time (April 2009), Falkos offered the best rate per gram of gold by far. Service was excellent - they personally phoned me to discuss any non-gold items sent by mistake and posted them back to me promptly. I received my cheque very quickly and it was all very efficient. This was the first time I have ever used such a service and I was apprehensive at first but I would use them again on the strength of this experience. The money I received per gram was as promised on the website minus the weight of any non-gold items.

i spent a while researching what the average price should be for my gold, i even went to a cash4mygold stand in Milton Keynes to ask them, he offered me £80 for 22 grams, which i now know is totally outrageous, he even said i wouldnt get a better price. Well i'm glad i didnt sell as i then found falkosgold jewellers, read their feeback which was brilliant, so gave them a try. Excellent, couldnt have been more pleased, what great service and what a great price for my scrap gold, more than twice i had been quoted from cash4mygold!! 2 days after posting my gold to him i had a phone call and a cheque the next day...would totally recommend anyone going to this jeweller, fab..10 out of 10!!!

I chose Falkos Gold after reading good reviews on MoneySupermarket and they also offered the best rates. They rang me up to tell me i had weighed it wrong, it was actually heavier that I thought and I ended up with £1080 instead of the £990 I was expecting. I had the cheque in my posession with 4 days of posting the gold.

Spent quite a while trying to find the best place to send my scrap gold finally ended up with falkos gold

i could not have made a better choice they responded as promised with in the 48 hrs very polite on the telephone
and i got exactly what i was expecting in money (as shown on their quick guide price on their web page)

i was paid 10.54 per gram on 19/5/2011
compare that to other sites

cheque recd on 20/5/2011

my advice go to falkos for best deal
