We will be monitoring the threads, and if we believe any company has got its own representatives to deliberately post positive feedback (or negative on its competitors) it will be deleted, and we will count that as negatively towards any company's reliability and trustworthyness.

On the 28/09/09 I posted 0.389 kgs of mixed gold jewellery to Postal gold in there free postal gold kit. Postal gold confirmed that they received this on the 29/09/09. At 9:47 on the 29th they advised me that a cheque for £9.85 had been sent out in the post for my gold.
Once I received the check I called there various contact numbers as the letter sent with the cheque had no return address for the cheque, just a company registered address which has a marked header and footer stating not to return the cheques to this address. I called numerous times to find out the correct return address so that I could return the cheque as I did not wish to accept this payment as the gold items have much more of a sentimental value to me. There was never an answer, only after it would ring off to a voicemail. Thus I left a few voicemails and continued calling with no response. I searched through every piece of literature I had been sent and also searched the Postal Gold website for a return address to send the check, however I could not find the correct address anywhere. I even went through to their telephone options to request a gold kit and explain I couldn’t get through to any customer service, where I was told they didn’t have access to that information and I would need to go through to the customer service which was a different department.
On Friday the 2nd of October I was getting worried that I would not receive my gold back as the ‘100% Satisfaction or Gold-Back Guarantee’ states you need to return it within 7 days (it does not state if these are 7 working days). So whilst I still tried to contact Postal gold on the telephone I e-mailed their customer service stating my worries and confirming that I wanted my gold kit returned and requested a response by the 12 noon on the 5th of October. I received an automated e-mail stating ‘Weendeavour to answer all emails received on weekdays within 24 hours, however during particularly busy periods this may take slightly longer’. I continued to try and call over the weekend with no answer. At 12:41 on the 5th of October I sent a follow up e-mail stating my distress, worries and that I expected to have contact back by 17:00 on Monday the 5th of October otherwise I will be forced to take this matter further.
I then forwarded a further 10 copies of my e-mail to them with different headings on Monday up to 13:00. As my frustration grew I started forwarding my e-mails with different heading and statements such as ‘please respond to my below e-mail’ and ‘Please do not melt my gold kit. Kindly respond and provide the return address for the cheque’. I send roughly 24 e-mails with approximately 51 entries of the postal gold e-mail address in the TO, CC and BCC field. Thus 1 e-mail should send over 150 times which should alert even the busiest customer service that there is a problem with their daily e-mail request. I finally received a response at 19:01 stating they would offer me £19.70, the correct return address and to inform us either way so that we can issue the additional payout or ensure the
extra amount is allocated to your account. I responded at 20:05 stating I would like to receive my gold kit back ASAP and I will post the cheque back to tomorrow 1st thing, therefore please can you make sure that my gold kit is safe and not sent to be melted down. I sent the cheque back on the 06/10/09 via recorded delivery.
I never had any contact until the 12th of October where they had sent me a cheque for £19.70. I e-mailed the customer service on the 15th of October as I could not get any answer on the telephone which stated that I had unfortunately received another cheque in the post today which goes against my request to Postal Gold. I forwarded another e-mail again only to receive a response stating the below:
‘Please be advised that as stated in the letter, we received your returned cheque too late and it is not impossible to return your gold. Please do not return the cheque as it will be necessary for us to simply send another. As advised in our terms and conditons, returned payouts must arrive with us by 7 days after the date of issue.’
I e-mailed the customer service back stating there was no such letter with the cheque and I requested my gold kit back after explaining everything that had happened. I returned the cheque and a letter explaining via recorded delivery. But to my dismay, this morning I received the returned cheque for £19.70 and a letter stating that I received notifications, and the information to return it if I was unhappy in good time. That return payment should have been at their office within 7 days of after the notification. They state that I simply had to contact them via telephone or e-mail to return the payment. They state ‘as previously mentioned to you, it is no longer possible to retrieve my items. They only said this in this letter as there last email (15th October) clearly states ‘is not impossible to return your gold’.
I have been to trading standard with no joy and I still do not have my gold kit back.
A horrible experience.0 -

Any joy with your gold? Have you sought legal advice? It looks like you have documented all of your contact attempts, so you should have a good case.
I've heard a lot of this sort of thing going on, it's absolutely disgusting. Don't give up. They do NOT have your permission to buy it from you and you have done the right thing by not accepting payment. They should have it stored somewhere. I hope you get the outcome you desire.Watch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]0
