This thread is specifically to discuss feedback for the

SprapGoldUK Postal Gold Company
(
Link)

Postal gold companies, where you pop your old jewellery in an envelope & they melt it down and send you a cheque, have boomed in the past couple of months. We’re researching a guide to selling old gold, and need help from folks who’ve used these companies.

If you've used this company, please can you tell us the following...
  • When did you use it
  • What did you send it
  • How much did it promise you
  • How much did it deliver
  • How efficient was the service
  • If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason
  • Anything else other people should know

Important note for Representatives of Gold Companies

We will be monitoring the threads, and if we believe any company has got its own representatives to deliberately post positive feedback (or negative on its competitors) it will be deleted, and we will count that as negatively towards any company's reliability and trustworthyness.

  • I used this company about 1 month ago for 2 silver cigarette cases and received the correct offered amount very quickly and am very satisfied. I like the way the web site scrapgolduk.co.uk works in that they quote the actual price for gram etc so you know here you are before you send the goods.
  • I love this company, I put all my gold into one of its bags and they gave me £94092478479847

No I dont work for the company.

If you look just above their quoted prices per gramme you will see that they have an "8% refining charge"
That means the price they pay is not so hot.

I have never used this company or any other for gold, but I am very cautious...all you really have is their word and a jiffy bag.

Now, what happens if they cannot be bothered to send it back before the 10 day cooling off period?

At least with a solid standing in stone pawnbrokers you have some way to actually speak to a real person and find out from the horses mouth what is offered.

And that ridiculous music on the advert is not off-putting in anyway and sounds completely professional to what I assume would be an intelligent person who would have need of looking at that site...[/sarcasm]
