As every November, Le Creuset has a clearance. Unfortunately, it's not online but whoever lives near Andover, Hamshire could pay a visit.

Now this got me excited, but sadly I don't live nearby, although I'm thinking about making a special trip...
Has anyone been before? Are there really bargains to be had or is it one of these things that's usually a disappointment?0 -
I've been before and it is good but only if you are going to buy anyway. They sell seconds and surplus stock with a few things at 60% off. If you want cast iron and you are not fussy about the colour it's normally about half price ...so great, but if you want to match an item you never really know what they will have. Even at half price it is still expensive,,,I would say if you were going to buy anyway it would be worth the trip but not really bargain hunting otherwise.

I have just bought a few items of Le Creuset from TK Max. One casserole dish, with lid, red stonerware was priced origionally at £55 and I paid £25. I also bought a couple of other things. I shopped in 3 different venues for Le Creuset and they all had plenty to choose from, apparently they recently had the Targines there but not when I was looking for oneNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

TK Maxx has quite a few Le Creuset products, but I have never ever found any cast iron ones there. Some of the Le Creuset stoneware is good, but the cast iron stuff is a lot better imho. I once got the silicon whisk from there for £3:eek: which is utilised all the time. There's a shop in Gunwharf Quays Portsmouth who sell seconds and end of range at reasonable prices. Le Creuset has stores in most outlets, but They are not as cheap as they used to be. The sale in andover offers a bit more variety imho and a bit better prices.
And for the more adventurous MSErs out the if you are a Le Creuset addict/junky/maniac/obsessive etc:rolleyes:, there is the actual Le Creuset factory in France in Fresnoy Le Grand which is about 110 miles from Calais. I have been there twice while on my way to Belgium and the second timethey were having a massive massive clearance of the Satin blue and Yellow ranges. Many Xmas presents at 60-75% off:j. If any of you is mad as me to go there make sure you check the opening times as they have a 1 or two hour lunch break on Saturdays and they are closed on Sundays. You can also have a tour of the factory during weekdays if anyone is interested. I haven't done it yet, but I think I will one day.Going to war over religion is basically killing one another to see who's got the better imaginary friend...

The factory shop in Fresnoy has a French lunchbreak most days, but when I was there it was open till 6 or even 7 in the evening. It was closed on Mondays, which I found out the hard way.
I have been twice - once I got amazing bargains in a discontinued shade, but the 2nd time wasn't quite as brilliant. Still definitely worth a visit if you're anywhere near.0 -
