I have tried several times in the past to get on the Dove site and I get the dove which then disappears leaving a white blurry blob. I can get the site map up from link at bottom of page but if I click on anything on that page I get the same disappearing dove! Is it just me?

Maybe the disappearing dove will take you to a sample of (the non-existent) Dove Vanishing Cream. Seriously, though, I'm not sure what to suggest. Do you have broadband? If not, perhaps the site's too big for your bandwidth to cope with easily. Or have you tried a different browser?
