This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...

Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

  • I had quite rubbish week and was red for last week. To be honest this month has been quite bad and money seems to be falling through my fingers. I have one more week until holiday and when I come back I need to be really strict with myself.

This week I am going to go for £30 to include everything spent.

I'm supposed to be going out tonight (with virtually no money in the bank, whoops!) so I think I'll go for £10 :)

Right so yesterday I had a great night out on £8.50, and spent £1.08 on ebay postage this morning, so I'm up to £9.58. I'll be working for the rest of the week so I should still be okay :)

  • Hi PP,

Was well over budget last week by about £20. I am not doing it this week as I'm not sure where my head is at, however please include me in next weeks.

    Thanks. xx
  • So far have spent £2.75, on a day rider bus ticket (£2.30, which lasted 4 bus journeys - had I gotten seperate tickets this would have cost £4.80!!!!) and a Lion bar *hangs head in shame* that I really didn't need! Walked everywhere today, as need another day rider tomorrow, then that is all my budget gone! So hopefully I'll be having a few NSD's until Saturday! Which, actually, should be ok as I have loads of food in, and have borrowed a dvd off a friend for entertainment!

I'm quite enjoying the challenge :) Though I reckon next week will be harder, as I go back to work, and have mid morning cheese on toast snack attack and coffee machine cravings to try and supress ;)
