  • I didn't ever expect to see a meet-up thread for Basingstoke!!! :)

Might be able to make it. Friends of ours are having a BBQ the night before so depends on the morning after and whether we stay over there's or now...
  • ok, so those in the B'stoke, where can we meet that won't be too expensive for our OS ways? i know there are restaurants and pubs around the town but not really been there for a while so not sure where would be best? and what time would you prefer?

All out of inspiration after a two hour dance rehearsal, but will try and think of somewhere we can go.

Hmmmm Amazingstoke - 23rd - I may be able to make it given that there are cheap train fares... How close to the town centre are you meeting and could y'all cope with a dog too? (OK, I'll clarify, I'm the dog but I might bring a canine friend too!)

I know soappie's not keen on town centres, and Basingstoke is really just a big mall (so not dog-friendly either)

How about somewhere like the pub at Barton's Mill? If the pub car park is full, there's a public one next door, and it's quite a big pub with seating outside as well. It's child and (I think) dog friendly. Also good walking nearby if anyone is interested.

Soappie - I could pick you & BB up from the station after I go to the gym if you decide to come...

For everyone else's benefit, BB is a very well behaved dog. Can't guarantee soappie's behaviour, but the dog has very good manners!

Good idea, Greenbee, Bartons Mill is lovely. I used to take my dog there and they are very canine-friendly. I've had a look and it doesn't look like we have a re-enactment that day so we'd be safe. I always end up going there when it's besieged by several hundred Cavaliers and Roundheads between battles!
  • looks good to me, no idea wheere it is tho... i'll be getting the train over too so if you'd have space for one more.................................................
