I've guessed the end date as the other comp (details included on this link but you have to buy/win a W995 mobile so it's a bit more than the MSE £1.50 max!) finishes on 30 September

Young Guns has joined forced with Sony Ericsson and FIFA to offer you the opportunity to win a brand spanking new Sony Ericsson W995 walkman mobile phone. All you to have to do is read the question below, and send your answers to the e-mail address at the bottom of the page.

Question: To the closest single digit, how many goals did Arsenal score there in their Reserves and Youth campaign?

We’re looking for the closest number, to the single digit, of the combined total of goals. This does not include friendlies, it only applies to Reserves League South fixtures, F.A Academy Premier League and F.A Youth Cup fixtures. Own goals not included. Send your answers to: youngguns.wordpress@googlemail.com. Or click below.

I've not a clue :confused:

Good Luck! :D

    I've been googling and just found this: http://www.arsenal.com/reserves-youth/statistics

    From that link Melli, the total goals only equals 74.

    Saying that though, the site is a travesty when it comes to finding accurate details, their tables are a complete mess.

    I could find the following;

    Premier Academy League table 2008-2009 total goals = 74. - This shows each team as having played 28 games, don't know if thats right, as it'd mean that every team plays each other 3 times, but also get to play a certain team 4 times.

    &

    Reserve League South table 2008-2009 = 17 - but the table for this seems incomplete, so who knows how many goals were scored.

    The only details i could find on the FA Youth cup says that 23 goals were scored in that.

    That would make 114 goals.

    Thanks kirkeastment - I have to say I put 74 after I found the link, but I'm not up on football at all :confused:

    Thanks for all your help and calculations - I'm working completely in the dark with lots of help from google! :o

    Think I'll amend the title to take the 'help' out and let people make up their own minds!
