Hi everyone, I am hoping you can help a poster on here( not me) who lives in Southern Ireland to get the best possible shopping tips and Oldstyle tips to make his budget go further. We have been discussing things on my thread and i really think he would benefit from your wonderful advice.
I thought i would post on here as the grocery challenge is on here and i know you are all canny bargain hunters and can help make the extortionate prices of meat and general goods go further than anyone i know.
So any tips?
Where can he compare food prices?
Thanks in advance

Bob...I presume you mean someone who lives in the Republic of Ireland. Basically the same rules will apply as do in respect of anywhere else...we just don't seem to get the same YS offers as people in UK. It will also depend on where exactly the person lives, small country towns may not be as easy to get bargains in as are larger ones, our farmers markets tend to be very expensive too.
Things like making a list, using leftovers and mealplanning will all equally apply wherever you live....I don't find many threads helpful as different criteria apply here and in the UK, but I have still been helped greatly since joining OS.

Thanks Marie, sorry i did mean the Republic of Ireland. I think you are hitting the nail on the head there with the 'back to basics' tip. I just wanted to see what was available for him, as i was appalled at prices and well basically the whole system.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
