Hello,
I have lurked on the sight for the last few weeks and am now gonna post and say Hi!
Me and my husband are looking at our debt etc and need some advice. I will post a SOA as soon as I know what to do...
We keep running out of money and have NOTHING to live on the last week of the month. Our teenage children are starting to notice the empty fridge and cupboards that last week and it is both humiliating and embarrasing as they dont understand our situation..
I really need help as I have spent the last few nights with no sleep wondering what to do..
If we post our SOA can someone look at it please, also some advice about a DMP and what that means..
Thankyou
Annie x:o

Hi, welcome to the boards. If you post your SOA some experienced MSEr's will be along to help you cut back.
If you are going down the DMP route make sure it is a FREE one, or alternatively manage one yourself ( I am after lots of tips from here).
Both my DDs are aware that money is tight, just explain to your teenagers that things might be tight for a while. They don't need to know for how long or why but explain. After a while you says-we can't aford that this week- begins to sink in.
(mine have fun shopping for bargins and seeing who can find the cheapest say biscuits/flour in Tesco/asda/lidle)Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

How old are the kids? If they're teenagers they should be old enough to understand.
Good luck doing the SOA, have a cup of tea and take it slowly.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
My son has just turned 13 and he knows our situation. I think it does them good to realise that money is tight and hopefully it will help them manage their finaces when they are older0
