This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...

Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

    Morning all,

It all went a bit wrong towards the end of last week as I stopped keeping track of things. I know this is all linked to me falling off the dieting wagon . Anyway I am red for last week and think I spent about £40 or so my bank account tells me.

This week is to be a short budgeting week as it is my birthday on Wednesday and I am going down South to a wedding from Wednesday to Saturday so this has a separate budget. So I am pledging £15 from today until Tuesday and then I will start again next Sunday.

Enjoy the last day of the weekend budgeteers.:D

I went slightly over with a night out on Friday, it wasn't the drinks (£3.70!) it was the taxi home!! £6.50 grrr. So a total of £14.70 / £10. I'll go for £30 this week please :-)

  • Hi everyone

I'd like to join this challenge, as it helps to keep me on track. I'm pledging £3.00 for this week as that's all I have to last me till payday on Friday. I'd be really chuffed if I manage to make it.

    Thanx

    Hi All
Was very chuffed keeping below £10 last week, hoping to follow suit this week too, may have to top up the petrol in the car before pay day friday, hopefully only a fiver! Otherwise I have no planned expenditure, lets keep those figures down!

    Good luck all

    Hi PP and everyone else.

I used to post occasionally on the old thread but haven't really posted on dfw for a while really so thought I would re-start.

I need to buy petrol for work this week (£25.00) so won't be counting that as it's already budgeted for.

Will allow myself £5.00 for bread and milk and nothing else! Gonna be an interesting week i feel!

    Good luck everyone

Hi I lost track a bit last week but I think I ended up about £12/£17 for this challenge so I'm green please.

This week will be payday so I'll budget £27 - but I've already spent £10.60ish at the shops this morning.

    Evening all,

I have updated the first post with the results and pledges. Nice to see lots of new people joining this week, welcome to the gang.

I have been to the cinema to see Moon today so my spends were £3.50 on bus fare and £3 on snacks for the cinema.
