Uses very expensive photo paper which only works with that printer.

Works out about 25p per small picture.

The paper has special colour layers (yellow, cyan, magenta most likely) and billions of micro 'crystals'. The print head inside heats up these crystals to varying temperatures to produce the colour. I think this is how it works anyway, or at least it's a very crude explanation of it :P

I was gonna pick myself one up until I realised you'd have to pay about 20p per picture and they're only 2" x 3", which is only double the size of a passport photo :\
  • My local Boots was selling off the photo paper for these for about £1.50 yesterday...

I ordered one of these after getting the email and I've seen the paper online at £15 for 90 sheets which isn't bad considering the printer was only £25 and theres no ink to keep buying too...

....and in a few months, no photo paper available to buy either!!

PS, £15 for 90 sheets is still 17p per 2" x 3" print, which is equivalent to around £2.80 per sheet of A4 photo paper....

    Bargain?

    I think not!!!
