Anyone ever tried LUSH facepacks?

Anyone ever tried LUSH facepacks?

DD & I bought one each, mine has oats & banana:D Hers has garlic:eek::eek::rotfl:

They are very thick, almost impossible to spread:confused:

Anyone else found this? I'm keeping them in the fridge, like you are susposed to.

Some of them are heavier than others although once they are on they are brilliant. My personal favourite is the one called catastrophe cosmetic which has blueberries in it.

I sometimes find it helps to take them out the fridge maybe an hour before use just so they soften a little.

If you ask for a sample you get a little pot which I find is enough for 2 uses - quite handy for figuring out what suits your skin best.

    Yeh I have
Most useful tips I have are
    - wash your hands before putting your fingers in to pull some out as its a fresh mask and can go nasty if you have dirty hands
    - keep it in the fridge and it will last longer than the date says
    - buy the mask of magnaminty its lovely and lasts longer (also good for feet)
    - its meant to be quite thick - but use warm water and it spreads a little easier
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

Take them out of the fridge a while before you want to use them, and if they're still too thick, put the amount you want to use in one hand, wet the other hand and drip some water (not much, really not a lot just some drops) into it and mix it up.

  • I'm still trying to work out which one suits me best - they have a bit of a tendency to make me break out. Or is that sort of to be expected?

They definitely keep longer if they're kept in the fridge though, I bought one and left it in my fridge at uni as I forgot to take it home with me over the Easter holidays. I found it when I came back five weeks later and it was still OK, which for something that's only supposed to last two weeks is pretty impressive.

I am a big lush fan. I particularly like Catastophe Cosmetic. When you put it on it is quite thick and purple so you do look a little crazy but it makes my skin lovely. OH likes it too. I put it on when in the bath so the warm water has opened my pores.
Its a pain to use but it is full of natural ingregients so I am not worried about what I am putting on my sensitive skin. If you take 5 pots back they give you one mask free so although they are not cheap at least you get something back.

I used to like Lush but I work above Victoria station and have to go down a tunnel out of the station each morning that Lush seem to pump all their cosmetic smell into... it's really overpowering!

  • I think I have the same one as your daughter! It has garlic in, and smells like wet dogs!

It is really good for my skin, I just try not to put any underneath my nose, as the smell really is awful.

They do a chocolate one (called cupcake I think) which smells gorgeous but is very very thick and hard to apply.
  • Ooh, I know what you mean henry_hoover, I love the garlic one but it makes me gag if I catch a wiff of it!

So good for my skin though, I think I'll stick it on tonight!

I find leaving them out of the fridge to soften for a little while can really help with the spreading - however due to the 'handmade' nature of Lush, some can be different consistencies - I usually find they get heavier as they get towards the end of their facemask life :(
