It will get better

Hello Everyone

Been viewing for quite sometime and today created my account.

This was my life a few years ago......

I was made BR back in December 2006 ... reading the many posts here it brings back those dark days for me.

Before I went BR I was just living to pay back what I owed which is right after all I had taken the banks cash now it was pay back time.

I worked as a labourer and man that was hard work...you get thinking ...whilst doing that back breaking work...were the hell did I spend that money ...........it's all been wasted on trying to be flash when your just a labourer trying to have all those things what those rich people have.

I would have the best clothes the best tech equipment and the bills...well there hidden behind the fridge I was working hard 6 days a week 12 hours a day.

Friends and family would say wow all these hours your putting in you must be loaded..if only I was more like dying I could feel the noose around my neck and the banks they were pulling and the knot was getting damn tight.

The main debt total was around £40k it took over two years to get into that much debt and the interest was the killer. I never missed a single payment, but could never break into the debt other then just hitting the monthly min payment. Action needed to be taken I began selling everything I had ( look around you now ) I probaly had that in my flat and it was sold on ebay.

I even sold my bed and furniture even the carpet was not safe the home clearance people were having a field day. I was now sleeping on the floor in a flat which resembled me empty.

My parents I happened to see one day going to work....my father said I look like hell I had lost so much weight I was 28 years old but felt I was like 128 I was worn out I came clean about the debt right there.

My Mother and Father said they wanted to help pay the debts .......there pension fund I could never do that I got myself in this mess no way take what they worked hard for there money. Telling my parents was the best thing telling someone your problems you get straight answers you either take our money or go Bankrupt.

I took the second option.

I did the deed and a year later discharged in the year whilst I was Bankrupt I got onto a course and now have a good job in IT.

Life now is worth living I found a great women when I was at my lowest ( BR year ) and she stuck with me, a week ago I became a dad for the first time .......

Everyone has a bad part in there life it just one of lifes tests....... you just have to believe it will get better.

Good luck

  • Thanks for the kind comments.

Reading that back now brings a tear to my eyes, them days sleeping on the floor then getting back up in the morning for a 12 hour back breaking shift.....I don't know why I did that to myself.

I had all those cool stuff but never really enjoyed them.

Today kind of lucky renting my parents second home have a beautiful wife to be ;) and a beautiful daughter Angel whom has made my life complete (well they both have) I am gonna make sure I be the best dad and husband god gave me a second chance and boy I am not letting go.

I wish everyone a better life if your in a hole don't digg deeper find someone to talk to and sort the issue out.
