very low cost compost bin

check to see if your council will subsidise the cost of a compost bin in your area:

http://www.recyclenow.com/home_composting/in_your_area/in_your_area.html

prices in my area start at £6 - not sure if it's the same for all areas.

(i think this may have been posted before, but ages ago, so sorry if i'm repeating info people are already aware of. also didn't know if this was the best place to post this - feel free to move it!)

If under south glos council you should be able to get the compost bin for free.

Mind you just over a year ago they deliveried to them to everyone in the area including people in upstairs flats :rotfl:

Mind you I don't think the people who delivered really knew the area and did not know my block of flats where flats. As they they where only 2 high and 3 long so looked just like a houses.

I got mine from recyclenow, 2 weeks ago and I have to go out and feed it every day! I have little beasties eating my veg peelings already. I got one of the black square ones and it was a b*gger to put together. "Simple to slot together" involved two adults and a lot of bad language. Yesterday the lid fell on my head, but I'm very forgiving.

I ordered one about 4 weeks ago (Dorset) and I'm still waiting for it to be delivered. I can't wait, I've never been so green in my life as the last few weeks :)

It only cost £4 and is quite small as there is only me and my 8 yo daughter, we have a small lawn and therefore I thought the large one would be a bit of a waste.
