Re-mortgage Existing lender admin fees

I am about to re-moratgage and noted that Halifax has increased it's admin fee etc from £75 four years ago to £175 now. I have written to Halifax expressing my griveances and received a standard reply explaing the costs are for labour, admin, technology and writing to the Land Registry without actually answeing my queries.
I intend to again write to them. The cost of £75 on my initill quotation does not mention that this cost is variable nor that it is set - but I think a rise of 130% in four years is excessive and they are using this fee to claw as much money out of me as they can without being reasonable.
I'm thinking of taking this one all the way - any advice?

I think brussels original post was about a specific fee known as Deeds Admin fees (or sometimes Redemption fees, closing fee etc). These shouldn't be confused with application / product fees or Eearly Repayment Charges.
brussels, as a general rule the banks are sensitive regarding this fee, so you may well have some luck, espeically if you were never told it would be variable.0 -
was it on your last annual statement? -
and tangent man as a pointm there may be a further £50 for deeds dispatch fee0 -
something to also think about - is that everywhere is going to charge a fee to leave them earlier
so when you remortgage, check this out, this information will be on your KFI
ie, i think A&L is £225 to leave0 -

Indeed do that, as you should find that the lender will fight a little bit and then agree the lower amount.
