Thursday 4/6/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

update spreadsheets
storecupboard lunch and tea
take out lunch for DD

check everything in greenhouse and water

hokey cokey and ironing
fill up car at cheapest garage
sparkle a lot

Here's my list for today....

check banking....moved Tax credits to spending account
scratchcard.....I am sick of that fish with lipstick on:o
packed lunches all made
dinner from meal plan - HM pizza and HM bread
do the surveys in my inbox

Won't need to charge mobile at work as left it plugged in all day yesterday....got home and had left it there so had to drive back and get it - so much for being dfw and having a lift from my friend and not using my own car;):D
Right...must go and get the girls out of bed. Have a lovey day everyone - remember we're nearly at the weekend:T

Am soooooo tired this morning. Really was a struggle to crawl out of bed! I want to be asleeeeeeeepppppppp.............

Today:

- Check online banking
- Clicks & scratches
- Post 2 ebay items that sold :T:T
- Tea from freezer (whoopsied pie picked up the other day)
- DDs to opticians for eye tests (neither wear glasses, just a precautionary check)
- Washing on line
- Start uploading photos to make photo book for mums birthday

Good Morning,

Just a quick posting from me at the mo to say Hello to you all.

I am on my way to my new job.....I have been there for 4 days, and I love it. The guy that I am helping is moving departments so there could be a vacancy (fingers crossed).

Anyhow, I will be back on later today to post the DFW things I have done today.

Morning everyone!

Glad you are enjoying your job - fingers crossed about the vacancy

Feeling motivated today - not sure why

but it is a good feeling so I'll run with it....

Plan for today -

1/online banking - done had 27.56 paid in my bank - no idea where from? I guess is probably tax creds??? although it isn't our usual tax cred payment day. cant see dets online until tomo - so will wait until then.
2/scratchies
3/go to drs - dad coming down to play with DS whilst I go
4/collect catalogue money to pay bill on sat :rolleyes: Such a pain but only 3 months left.
5/work hours
6/sofa being delivered this arvo. hope it fits thru door!
7/cleaning schedule
8/get all boxes in from shed so I can sort whilst OH is away
9/play with DS
10/send book sold on amazon :mad::mad:
11/change addresses on stuff - will sort files out at same time.

not much to do then! - OH has a half day today so that should help with things :j

Babyhead if you did your renewal recently could be tax creds. I got a weird payment about a week after I did mine.

Today I have/will

Check online banking
phone solicior to advise we will not be increasing our offer on a house
do scratchie
look at budget
type letter to DWP
work a full 8 hour shift
Enquire about overtime
plan a cleaning rota so noting gets missed

Checked banking, increased a SO to pay off a debt a bit quicker
Breakfast from stores
Kids lunch boxes done
Been to vote
Watered plants, moved salad trough into shade
Bunny out in run, thankfully its cooler today
Vouchers from T wine club, put in purse
Dishwasher on doing it thingggg
Kitchen tidied
Lounge tidied
Oooh yesterday I charged my phone at work, forgot that!
Checked quidco - still nothing validated
Checked PB - back to no CT, think I average 2 a month now Just need some more for a voucher and then I wont bother
Worked 4 hours
Charged phone at work again
Lunch from stores
Got bargain cider from T, saved £16
Dinner from stores
Checked for mystery shops
Updated tax credits with new job details, and did my renewal, which should see us £££££ better off yeehar! Hopefully now they will stop claiming to have overpaid me!
Been to SW and faced the music! 1lb over target range, kick me people!!!
Checked details of 2 MS that I have tomorrow
Job searched
Got hours for july, some extra hours, extra money!

Sunny again, but seems cooler at the moment - hmm, they keep on about rain, don't they?

Today I have / will:

Check online banking

See to animals and plants (done some, must get on with rest in a minute)

HM meals - got things to use up

No spending today :T

Put some washing on at 30 degrees and line dry - if it doesn't rain

Oh, and lots of work - roll on the weekend :j

Stew on for dinner tomorrow night - orkney beef in ale pie - yum
Pick up other brother from boat later
Sort out car
Rubbish is out wiht recycling
Plant more garden
Pick more flowers
Lodger bday so done a quick card and a bunch of flowers from the garden (cheapo that I am)
Quck check of thing in garage and need to get boys to do more logs

Also need to do a meal planner - and yeah its been on my list ALL week!!

hi guys,

Well I didn't manage a NSD yesterday because I ordered the 50p photo father's day card :rolleyes: but that does save me money :money:

Today I have/will:
*reply to all the freecycle emails

*check online banking-no change
*advertise more stuff on freecycle- really having a good old clearout
*do 2 mysteryshops
*have something on toast for dinner
*daily scratch-10p :j
*go see my friends new baby- this is money saving as its too expensive to have my own :rotfl:
