Hi I lost 1 1/2 stone on reductil last year. i found there were alot of side effects such as dizziness and nausea, they can also play havoc with the emotions I felt very low at times. They effect the saratonin levels I think. Although these only lasted a few weeks. My weight loss was slow and i was upped to 15mg after a while. Unfortunatley I have now gained the weight back as i found my appetite did return with a vengace when i stopped them.
Its 50/50 really they do work but you have to be prepared for the side effects and be carefull when you come off them.
Everything considered I probably would take them again cause I am desparate to lose weight.
I hope this helps in some way xxIn Perfect love and Perfect Trust.0 -
hiya!
i was on it for a good 5 months I lost around a stone. i had some strong side affects like a really bad dry mouth! horrible headaches.
they monitor you every 2 weeks at the docs (me anyway!) check your blood pressure because the tablets raise it and you cant take it for more than 12 months cos it can affect your liver.
ive had a few blood tests recently as my liver isnt up to scratch now, theres one enzyme which is too high. i dont really know what it means but the these tablets (which i stopped taking 8 months ago) may have affected me!
but this is just about me! im sure you'll be fine!
theres a really brill forum for people on reds i dont have a link but the site is called UKMedix just click on the forum and find the one for reductil takers! theyre all v friendly on there!
good luck!0 -
thanks i feel a bit happier now , my GP wanted to give me xenical but im unsure about all the side effects ,i think id rather take my chances with the reductil issues rather than the Xenical onesThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
