Hello, there is a website for ppl moving to NZ from UK (and elsewhere but mostly UK) if you are not already aware of it: http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/
It seemed to me to be a very helpful site for asking questions of ppl who have already made the move & making contact with ppl who are also taking the plunge and are thinking of moving out there. Ppl also post who have made the move and didn't like it & are coming back, so I think that's very useful and makes it a very balanced site.:j I :heartpuls this site! :j0
