Hi,
Looking for some advice. I'm allergic to most shampoos etc and been using Garnier Nutralia Shampoo for Normal Hair for a few years. Unfortunately i can not get this from any local shops anymore, and have posted elsewhere on this site for help trying to find a website that uses minimum delivery charges.
Anyway reason for posting here was to ask if there are other ways/shampoos that do not contain nuts, coconut, seeds or mango, or strong perfumes that i can use. I have no shampoo left at all so have to find something to use before i and if i can get any of the my normal shampoo. I use fairy liquid to clean most things in my house, but not sure if i should use this in my hair!!.
All suggestions gratefully received,
HT

You could try soapwort shampoo. I have never made it myself, but i have read about it on other forums. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Have you tried the new simple shampoos? I haven't checked the ingredients list but they may be what you need.0

My son has allergies and uses Green People organic base, it is unfortunately very expensive, but it doesn't cause a reaction or irritate his skin at all, so it is worth it IYSWIM. I buy mine online but some Health Food Shops sell it. The other prducts in the range are also good and a little does go a long way.MFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

I had a housemate with a strong allergic reaction to cocnut and coconut products. She used to buy her shampoo from Lush. Some of their shampoos do contain coconut or mango etc. but they have some that don't and their labelling is very clear. They are strongly scented but using natural oils rather than synthetic perfumes.0

Try using aqueous cream its a really good all rounder you can wash, shave, with it as well, its a cheap moisurising cream with no smells for a large tub its around £3.00 ypu can get it from boots, superdrug, i found it really good for itchy dry scalp.
rub it into your hair like shampoo leave as long as you like then rinse well leaves your hair really soft
hope this helps

Don't use washing up liquid! It's far too harsh for hair.
I can remember my Mam keep telling my Grandma off for washing my hair in washing up liquid when I stayed there as a child, as it made my hair horrid. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Beware.
Baby Shampoo is mainly not milder than ordinary shampoo it just has extra thingys that stop the shampoo hurting/stinging the eyes. I saw a Tricologist (SP) some years ago and apparently baby shampoos are best avoided even for baby.Panda on My Shoulder
If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it :rotfl:0 -
Thank you to everyone that replied to my post. You'll be glad to know i have managed to get hold of a bottle of my shampoo (but the shop is not sure they can get any more), so have not had to use washing -up liquid, which is a relief. Will be looking into all your suggestions as it would be good to know there is more than one type of shampoo i can use for future use.
tried the 'lush' link from kittiwoz but it took me to microsoft???? Can you post link again please.
Many thanks again,
