I've just taken a pale pink sweater out of the washing machine and noticed a stain on it, I think it's curry, I only wash it on a cold wash as it's delicate, it's still wet, what's the best thing to do with it now
HELP!!!!!

oo tough one you could try milk, that sometimes works for me, just soak the stain in milk overnight, but i think now you have washed it the stain will be much harder to get out, hopefully someone else will be along to give you some other advice soon, if its the same sort of curry sauce as spag bol sauce i know that can be a nightmare!

thank you0 -
Have you tried putting neat washing up liquid on the stain and rubbing it in to the stain and then wash it again
Ive done this several times on items that ive washed and the stain is still there so rubbed neat washing up liquid in the stain and washed it again and its worked
it got rid of washed in vomit stains, grass stains what hasnt come out in the wash
but if i know ive got a bad stain on clothing i usually do the washing up liquid before i put it in the wash but it has worked after ive washed the stained items but its easier before0 -
As you've washed in cold water you shouldn't have set the stain in for good, don't let the garment dry tho or you will. I ususally pre-treat stains with household soap working it into the fibres you could try this or washing up liquid is good as a previous poster has said. To wash the stain out after treatment I would suggest cranking up to a warm wash rather than cold and using a bio-powder/liquid. HTHLife's a beach! I fear that if the curry contained turmeric, then your stain may be here to stay
I believe it's one of the few substances that scotchguard etc won't guarantee against (apologies if scotchguard do, but many of these types of companies don't
)
I had a lovely white tablecloth that a friend split curry all over and even having resorted to bleach (at the 'nothing to lose' stage) - the stain still won the dayOne tablecloth fit only for the bin.

Although it's been a while since I worked in an R&D lab to test laundrycare products........I think Ticklemouse may be proved right.
I used to apply a range of bleachable and enzymatic stains onto fabrics. Then test them with different laundry products.
The best laundry product for stain removal was Ariel Biological Automatic powder..........but even Ariel couldn't shift a curry stain.:sad:10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride.
