Toddler peed on my lovely pillow topped mattress!!!

Options
Hi - my little one arrived in my bed sometime last night and I woke up in a puddle.

How can I clean the mattress? It's a pillow topped deep one - and only bought recently. DH will not be pleased when he finds out.

Help?

Sponge with cold water with a little antiseptic added, then prop the matteress up on its side, leaning forward slightly so the water doesnt soaks in futher. To stop it smelling, spray with one part vinegar to 5 parts water. You can use a hairdryer to help speed up the drying time. HTH

You can also lightly sprinkle the area with bicarbonate of soda which will help it to smell fresh.

LOL! I'm 37 weeks pregnant, and DH kindly bought us a new memory foam mattress to ease my back pains. Last night I found him putting a plastic sheet under the top sheet, I asked him what he was doing to which he replied that he was protecting the mattress from me in case I had the baby in bed!! Oh great, now I have a crunchy bed and a fear of giving birth in bed!

Not such a bad idea because although you'll be fine and not have the baby in your bed (unless that's the plan!lol) your waters make break while you're there. It's not nice to come home from the hospital to a soggy mattress! :rotfl:

My waters broke in bed at 2 am. I hadn't put a plastic sheet on the bed like many of my friends and at 2 am I woke feeling a pinging and threw myself out of bed. Thank god it didn't go on the bed, but my husband said he'd never seen me move so fast and at 38 weeks gone it was hysterical. Not for me might I add!
