Just to say I've just got back from the Three Bridges Tesco with four bags! That's 16Kg of rice for less than £4!0

That is a good deal. I got lots of the 1kg bags when they were going for 50p, BUT I would recommend you rinse the rice A LOT (I ended up soaking it for 10 - 15 mins or so) as it is very starchy and goes all stodgy if you don't rinse. (I wouldn't buy again unless very cheap

sorry for sounding very thick. i only ever buy easy to cook long grain rice. no idea why . just always have. Is this rice just as nice and easy to use? if so what a bargin. we eat loads of rice. i used to buy it when it was 4 kg for £1.81 in tesco couple years back.0

It looks like the plain long grain is gone, and easy cook is what Tesco now offer. £1.28 a kilo is hardly a great deal either. Just another example of Tesco price increases ripping us off.

Actually the price rose from about £1.81 per 4Kg to around £5 per 4Kg just about a year ago. With hindsight this increase heralded the ripoffs to come.0

noticed that when i was on tesco website today. I wouldnt buy online though because the online price is just a "guide". I'll check in store when im next in though. I might be making some rice wine.0

just checked online for my local Tesco and they are still showing the 4kg bags of Tesco long grain rice (the red bag as pictured above) but it is priced at £3.95
