Can crowns be replaced easily?

Hi! :)
My OH has been using the Crest Whitestrips and they have worked well on his teeth.
He had an appointment with his dentist today to ask about getting a crown on his front toooth replaced as it now does not match his other teeth.
the dentist said he would rather not remove the crown as it might cause all sorts of problems.
Is the dentist being over cautious or is it possible to replace this crown easily?
Thanks!

Hi Jummy, it really is impossible for anyone to give you a definitive answer on this one without seeing the tooth in question, the dentist must have some good reason for not removing it, your OH should try to find out more info on what their dentist feels could go wrong. The only other thing to do is get a second opinion elswhere.
