Query to a CCCS Helper.

Hello, my girlfirend is on a DMP with CCCS, my query is that one on one of the credit cards the bill is asking for a greater payment and she is incurring interest as a result. The latest bill from them wanted a payment of just under £30 (thirty pounds). Is it OK for her to make a payment directly for this, or does everything need to go through CCCS?
She has arranged online for one of you guys to phone her one evening to discuss this, but I would rather know whether she should pay off £30 now.
Thanks

Hi
She should not make any extra payments outside of her dmp otherwise CCCS will end it. Creditors must be treated fairly. Ignore their demands and your g/f will find that they will accept eventually - just takes a bit of time.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Thanks for your response.
Thing is it's frustrating waiting for the CCCS to phone her. Thought it was going to be last week, but they didn't call......0 -
Not sure that they can give advice on that here, but have you posted on the CCCS thread?

Hello!
Definitely don't make any extra payments as this can put the whole DMP in jeopardy.
How long has she been on the DMP? If it's still early days, then it might not yet show up on statements.
Some of my creditors' statements show arrears that I "must pay now", normal minimum payment, and/or how much interest will be charged next month - but elsewhere on statement it says something along lines of "if you're on a reduced payment plan, please ignore arrears, etc and keep paying your agreed payment".
Best wishes.Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.
Dealt with my debt through a Step Change (CCCS) DMP.

She has been on DMP about 6 - 7 months.
there is also about a £400 difference between what CCCS think she owes and what the statements (from the creditors) say.
Hopefully CCCS will call her this week......0
