i've not supped my port quick enough and it has now stained the inside of my crystal decanter (and before anyone says decadant so and so, it was a wedding pressie !), can anyone advise me what to use to get the inside of my decanter all sparkly again.
The outlaws are coming for Xmas and i could really do with having it done by then.
if it's the cloudy/muddy brown stuff you want to remove then just bung a couple of tablespoons of soda crystals in with a little warm water and swish about before the crystals dissolve...then fill up with warm water and leave for a couple of hours

Try posting this on the Money Saving Old Style board ... very knowledgeable people on there who seem to be able to come up with answers for cleaning anything. !;D
(Not that the answers you've already had won't work, but just in case they don't. :)
"This little pot of magic contains lots of small ball-bearing size copper balls that solve all kinds of awkward cleaning problems. To remove deposits from intricate or narrow vases or decanters, for example, simply pour in the magic balls, add a little water and swirl round. Once they have finished their work, simply dry and store for re-use. Just like that!"

About 200 years ago, when I used to be an amateur winemaker, there was a product called "Chempro SDP" whoich would shift any stains you like from any glassware you like.
