Label, Label, Label

Just a quick word of advice before I go and buy my new mattress.

When you buy herbs and spices in large quantities also buy a pack of blank labels at the same time.

This evening will be spent chucking out some of the contents of my store cupboard as I have no idea what they are :(
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    ........another option is to mark the bag/container with a permanent marker felt pen with the contents and date.;)

    Of you could just put all the herby looking ones in one pot - voila mixed herbs, and all the spicy one's in another - voila - mixed spice?

    You've just reminded me moggins of a time when I almost put garam masala in a fruit cake instead of mixed spice, as they look almost identical in my jars! It was only the smell that stopped me in my tracks at the last moment :rotfl:

    Surely you can taste them to tell what they are? And if they don't have enough taste to be able to tell they are probably past their best anyway!

    or you could cut out the name from the original packaging and sellotape it to the jar
