I wanna battery charger and set of batteries

Just bought a DAB radio and would like to make it truly portable so I am after a charger and 6 or 12 C size batteries. I heard DAB drains quite quickly so the bigger capacity the better - not sure of the difference between the different types (Ni-mh and the other one). I saw a charger for £8.99 in Comet and the batteries were £5 for two. Any good websites or deals around?

Cheers

check out ebay plenty of good deals there
  • Hi

I use to work in Battery Market so here's a quick heads up:

Ni-hm(nikel metal hydride) will last longer than

Ni-Cd(Nikel Cadnium) old hat now but still ok

you then have to look at the mAh (milli amp hour) rating as the higer the better

    i.e a AA(pencil size) Ni-MH with 2700mAh will last longer than one with 1000mAH

Lithium are the best rechargeables but are generally more expensieve than Ni-mH.

one of the best places to go for Batteries is you local DIY store like B&Q as they are always driving dowen the costs

    hope this helps

    Cheers

7dayshop have packs of two C-sized rechargeable NiMH batteries (2300 mAh) here

Postage is £3.95 though so you may want to buy a few more things at the same time.

Another option you may consider is to buy rechargeable AA batteries instead and pop them into C-sized battery adaptors - I understand they work fine and AA batteries are not only cheaper but they can be used in more devices so you don't need to buy C batteries just for the radio.

7dayshop have the C-sized adaptors here for 89p for a pack of two

A pack of four NiMH rechargeable AA batteries (2500 mAh) costs £3.99, see here

Finally, they have a cheap, fast AA battery recharger for £5.99 here

i have just ordered from https://www.battery-force.co.uk. It was recommended to me - only did the order yesterday but seemed very cheap to me.
MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!
  • Thanks everyone - I've gone with Kentish's suggestion - I bought 12 NImh 2500 AA batteries and 6 AA to C size adapters from 7dayshop for just under £20 including p and p. I already have an AA charger so I did not need to buy that.

    Cheers for all your suggestions!
