ReplensMD on Prescription

I was prescribed ReplensMD Vaginal Moisturiser by my Practice Nurse. I am post menopausal and was having bad problems in that area..Took the prescription to the Tesco Pharmacy only to be told that it was NOT available on NHS. I could buy it privately at nearly £10 per box (prescribed 3 boxes). Said no to that and went into town to Boots. They said the same, not on prescription, its in our book and its not on the computer. Again said no thanks. Went home, did a bit of research on the net, found the Replens site and on there is an actual statement, from Replens quoting all the information, Drug number, BNF entry etc. So I printed it off and duly presented it to Boots. They ummed and aarghed a lot, said could I come back in a while. When I did, no problem, they said very sorry, they have checked it out and have now updated their computers. and handed me my three boxes.
Think what the problem is, is that Replens renamed their product and reformulated it so that it could be on prescription but the chemists have not realised this.It was available as from July 1st 2005.
I hate to think of the number of women who have had to pay for this after it was prescribed for them. So if you have problems with the chemist, print off the info from the site and hand it to them.
By the way, it has worked really well for me. Its much more than a normal lubricant like KY or similar.
