'Debt Collection CAN be Harassment' - What the Courts say

PLEASE take a look at the following link, where you will read of an ordinary 'consumer' who not only took on the might of British Gas and won, but earned praise from the Judge for 'taking a stance against the practices employed by those who collect debt' :

Thank you.

So it is 1st crudit London that has the condition imposed?

Crapquest has also started to issue SDs in similiar circumstances, so may be we need to encourage people to complain about them?

Most definitely! Now the OFT seem to be in the 'mood'.

It is the OFt that is going for them, so make the same complaint to them.

Particularily interesting quote from Ray Watson - Consumer Director of OFT:

"Debt Collection firms have a clear legal obligation to deal fairly and proportionately with consumers. This is more important than ever given the current economic climate, when people might be suffering as a consequence of debt problems. We will continue to use our licensing powers to take firm action to protect consumers where debt collectors engage in oppressive behaviour or practices that fail to comply with our guidance."

Yep. :) Hopefully the OFT will take similar action if some of the other "prime suspects" don't clean up their game.
