I've been told these exist - does anyone know anything about them?
I can't stand the lush ones that you metl with the henna in, the smell makes me gag!
But I have been told there is a commercial veggie hair dye?
Keeping it OS, does anyone have a homemade version?

I have used both henna and vegetable dyes. You can use indigo to give your hair a dark/bluish tint or lemon juice which will lighten your hair in the sun (but will damage it long term if you use it on a regular basis).
I havent used either, but do still use henna occasionally. Have a nose round this site, there is some information about using indigo on there. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks judi - where can i buy the vegetables dyes from?0

You can buy it from Goodness Foods, but i must say, vegetable dyes dont last as long as henna. I buy my henna from here, i must say, it isnt such a faff to use as the Bodyshop henna as its in powder form rather than a block. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Daniel Field makes "organic and mineral" hair dyes, I don't know if they are vegetable as such but they are free of nasty chemicals. You can google his name or buy the hairdye here: http://www.honestycosmetics.co.uk/daniel_field_hairdressing_colour.shtml0
