Your freezer will be fine - just dont open it.

As for the fish, keep an eye on the temp. If it gets too cold then put some warm water in a bag and float it

I dont know about the fish, but what i would do with the freezer is turn it down, to its lowest temp so that everything freezes more, then when the electricity goes off, it will take longer to defrost, as long as you keep the door shut, and then check once the electricity goes back on (make sure nothing has defrosted), im sure you will be fine, and can then turn temp back to normal

It's actually better that your freezer is full as it will all stay frozen for much longer! Just don't open it at all until the electric is back on and it's running at it's usual temperature again ;)

The fish should be absolutely fine unless the room they're in is exceptionally cold, in which case you might want to leave some sort of heating on in that room to keep the ambient temperature up.

Unless your house is heated to tropical temps, the food in your fridge will be fine - even opening and closing the door throughout the day
  • Thanks. i was worried getting milk out for brews (i like my tea!!!) may cause problems, but realised kettle won't be working anyways!!!!!!

That's just the sort of thing I'd do!!! :D

If you've got any flasks handy (assuming you still have power that is) then get them filled up so you have a hot drink whilst it's off ;)

Actually, just spotted it's tomorrow it's going off not today, and of course you must still have power if you're posting here  ... see what I mean LOL! :o
