Wilkinsons due to sell FOOD

I don't know if this has appeared elsewhere and if in fact it is only applicable to selected stores, but starting on Fri next, our Wilkinsons store will be selling food, milk, bread, chilled goods etc. Does anyone have any information on this?.

They have started selling food in the Darlington store. The kind of stuff you find in other discount shops, soup, coffee, packs of biscuits, etc. as well as fresh sandwiches.

    Wow,

I wonder if they will do this in the Long Eaton shop as we don't have many food stores, apart from Asda, Tesco, Kwik Save,Aldi, Farmfoods and the Co-op!
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • I wonder if Droitwich will? Might be tempted to pop over there if they do.

As I started this post, perhaps I ought to add that we have lost our Tesco, Sainsburys, Quicksave leaving a solitary Iceland and a 99p shop, all these in our town centre, so any opportunity to purchase any items of food is welcome. The big two, namely tesco & sainsbury are now a mile or so out of town, which isn't much good for non drivers.

  • It's the same in Darlington, we have very few food shops left in the centre of town so I think Wilkos will do quite well with this veture.
